Zell an der Mosel

Discover the beautiful landscape of the Moselle region around Zell; the best way to do this is by bicycle or by using the wonderful hiking trails.

The small town center of Zell has only about 1500 inhabitants.
Including all its districts, Zell has a population of approximately 4400.

The town of Zell Mosel, whose Latin name "Cella" stands in interesting contrast to the Celtic names "Merl" and "Kaimt" of its suburbs, has been the main town in the "Zeller Hamm" (Moselle loop) since ancient times. This wine town, with over 2000 years of history, invites you on a journey through a rich and eventful past, reflected in its impressive buildings, winding alleyways, and, not least, its picturesque town center. Its scenic beauty and favorable climate make it a popular destination for tourists from all over the world.

Historic wine cellars, a museum, boat trips, wine-related activities, and a vibrant culinary scene offer an almost endless variety of ways to enjoy your holiday. The extensive hiking trails and attractive excursion options in the charming surrounding countryside provide opportunities for more than just a short break.
